Prepare a Declaration of Conformity from verified product-compliance evidence and the applicable legislation. For an EU DoC, the responsible manufacturer or authorized representative must ensure the required assessment is complete before an authorized person signs it.
What matters
Identify the exact product, manufacturer and relevant regulatory requirements. Confirm which conformity-assessment route applies and whether an assessment body must be involved. A template can organize the wording, but it cannot establish that the product complies.
Build the declaration from the technical file: product identification, applicable legislation, relevant standards and any required assessment-body details. Check the required language and the signatory’s authority. Keep the declaration consistent with the model, labels and instructions supplied with the goods.
Review it when the product, legislation or responsible-party details change. Give the importer access to the current version and retain the supporting documentation as required for the product concerned.
A common mistake
Copying another product’s declaration, or assuming a logistics adviser can certify compliance by drafting a document.
